Campers explore adaptations, habitat, and environmental topics through hands-on lessons, games and crafts. With daily raptor encounters, outdoor adventures, and nature photography, campers will bring home smiles and stories each and every day!

  Carolina Raptor Center - Hawkwarts: A Camp for Muggles
Meet at platform nine and three quarters for a thrilling ride to Hawkwarts! During this Harry Potter themed camp, campers will blend fantasy and reality together through science experiments, art projects, and botany. Classes such as Care of Magical Creatures, Wands, and Potions will engage creative young minds and expose campers to every day "magic".

  Carolina Raptor Center - Radical Raptor Adventures
By popular demand, a raptor camp for nature lovers ages 11 to 14! Campers will explore animal behavior, forest ecology and environmental issues through hands-on lessons, activities and projects. With daily raptor encounters, outdoor adventures and nature photography, campers will come away with an enriched sense of environmental awareness and a newfound respect for the natural world.

Join us as we travel around the Zoo for a fun photo safari. Each camper will be provided with their own disposable camera to take home. Photos will be taken of campers and camp activities, made into a photo booklet and sent to you by mail at the end of the summer.

  NC Zoo - HERP HIDEAWAYS
Scute your way into the hidden hideaways of reptiles and amphibians. Discover the differences between these animals and what they can tell us about our environment. Spend the evening exploring the world of these elusive backyard creatures with games, activities and an animal presentation. Invite a toad to live in your yard by building a toad abode. In the morning, journey to the water's edge to forage for froggy food.

This program includes a night hike and an overnight stay.  More details on the zoo website.

A wonderful volunteer opportunity for Teens that love children and horses.  Wings of Eagles
provides a place where children and adults with special needs can enjoy the freedom and enhanced physical fitness provided by horseback riding.  Volunteers learn to work with a variety of horses and children in a run, safe and rewarding environment.  What a wonderful way to spend your summer break!
